Brouncker [William Brouncker, 2nd Viscount Brouncker of Castle Lyons, in the Irish Peerage, c. 1620-84] as first president of the Royal Society, presumably to approve the copy."

This volume is the one of the two surviving presentation copies of the 1665 edition of the Micrographia. Mentioned by Haskell F. Norman in "My Education as a Bibliophile," originally published as an introduction to The Haskell F. Norman Library of Science & Medicine (1991). The Haskell F. Norman Library was auctioned by Christie's in New York on 15-16 June 1998 (sale 8922), with this copy as lot 525; it was purchased by a private collector.
